Authentic as it gets ......Chili Chicken , Corn Soup and Chinese tea for $ 10 .00This Place Rocks ......
Good quality Chinese food. Different cuisine, but not necessary all are authentic, nice portion.
Horrible food. Wouldn't even pay for it if it's cheaper... Not to mention it's overpriced
Hands down the best Hong-Kong style Chinese food in the downtown core. Be sure to try the Orange Peel Beef, Grouper with Sweet Corn sauce, Satay Beef fried rice noodles, and a great braised tofu with vegetables.
My roommate brought home General Tsao chicken, almond soo guy and chow mein. We loved the quality of the food, it tasted great! The portions were very generous and we have enough for lunch tomorrow!
This is my regular take out place for chinese. It has quite an extensive menu, but if you know what you like from past experiences, it will help you. Their fried rice is really good, as well as the noodles. People complain about over pricing, but it's the downtown core! If you want cheap, I suggest going a little west or north. I've dined in with friends and family before, as well. No one I've brought here has complained about the food. In terms of service, the staff can be friendly, but everyone is quite straight forward. It is often a waitress or two that are working but I am impressed by how fast the food and service is! If you want glamor and dazzle, this place may not tickle your fancy, but it definitely delivers (ba-dum-ch).
Solid place for traditional dim sum on carts and Cantonese dishes.
The food is barely eatable. The waitress was rude. The water tasted terrible. Never again to this place.
Good portion, reasonable service. Very authentic cantonese interior and menu. You have lots of options to choose from from big to small, from veggies to meat. They also have a great dim sum combo
The food is practically tasteless. My partner and I had to season the entrees we got ourselves to make it edible. Some examples from this meal being: The General Tao Chicken was barely spicy and lacked flavor(like everything else), so stay away General Tao lovers! Another one was that the Wonton soup was just hot water with garnishes and the smallest Wontons ever(a teaspoon of meat and the rest all dough). Not to mention they gave us the wrong order. Not worth the money if you have taste buds and love the cuisine. Will never order from here again.
Not bad, not great. You pay a lot for mediocre food. My girlfriend really liked it, good for people who like really mild flavours. If you're looking for something with some kick, spend your money elsewhere.
Really friendly and attentive owners.Food tasted great!
Today I went to this restaurant and i loved the food and service there. If you have time hands down the best Chinese Restaurant in downtown.
I got pork and mixed vegetables with a side of rice. The pork strips were very tasty and tender, and the veggies were good. $20 after tip is decent for the location and the quality of the food.
Had the dimsum combo. The server was terrific. She was very friendly and informative and had impeccable timing. The dimsum was delicious. This place is a new favorite.
This is the best place I have eaten in Toronto. The owners are incredibly kind and the food is absolutely outstanding.
I definitely would not recommend this place. I ordered a soft drink, a soup and chicken fried rice. The cheque would have been almost $20 for this basic meal. I asked to add mushrooms to the fried rice and the waitress proceeded to tell me it would be a $5 additional charge. I've been to many Chinese restaurants and it is usually $1 and sometimes $2. I don't mean to sound cheap or petty, but when you pay $11 for the chicken fried rice, which includes many vegetables, rice and chicken it should not be $5 to add a couple mushrooms. I found a Chinese restaurant up the street with better service, better food and they don't cheat their customers.
Perfect for lunch and dependable Chinese food. Very nice staff also.
10% off on take out. Good food at a reasonable price.
The saddest Chinese food in the entire universe! Not even garlic they put in there. What a waist of money. Couldn't be more tasteless!!!! Please don't advertise this as Chinese very offensive.
Menu printed $10.50 for my order. They charged me $13.50, claiming I didn't tell them I want the lunch menu, also this price doesn't include tip, I paid over $15 for something I can get for $6 in chinatown Spadina & Dundas. I didn't tip them, I won't go back here again.
I find this place a bit too pricey, but was impressed that I wasn't given a foam box for my takeout dinner.
Decent place. Has a decently priced dim sum menu as well!
Overpriced. The waitress forcefully insisted the tip should be 10% & kept asking. We did pay but I've never had such experience anywhere!!
Amazingly rude service! Ordered four kinds of dim sum for brunch, which were quite decent, yet the owner-looking lady and man looked so disturbed the whole time that it was even funny and I was scared to talk to them. It was super hard to get their attention, the lady spilled water on the floor as she was so in rush (though there were not many customers), answered our questions with simply "yes" or "no" without further explanation, smile, or even eye contact lol. Plus, sticky table and seats.
The first day here the staff was nice and helpfulThe second day... it was awful. Definitely not a busy time and when I ordered my take away I felt like I m begging for food.
Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Portions and flavour are both good as well.
Very rude staff, overpriced meals (even for lunch special), taste bland. Very disappointed I wasted my money in here. Not going back ever.
Singapore noodle, octopus curry sauce, green onion pancake, steam pork dumplings, general tao chicken...tsing tao....x2 = best meal I've shared in a long time.
The food is nice but the staff is super mean! I was picking up my order and asked for an extra soy sauce. The waiter told me to wait. I was in a hurry so I asked him if I can pick it up from the box myself and he shouted at me by saying that he is the only person who is working and I have to wait for him. I tried to help him and make the whole process faster but he was extremely mean and disrespectful. I definitely recommend the food but it's better not to communicate with the staff at all.
One of those Chinese places with huge menus, lots of options. I found the food to be fresh, we'll prepared and delicious. I think this place is a cut above the standard Chinese food place. Also, open fairly late. The service was friendly and efficient. Lots of vegan/vegetarian options, although probably true for any Chinese restaurant.
I have never had slow service or a bad experience here and I've been ordering food from here for years. If I could I'd give it more than 5 stars
Tastier than tastiest!
You might not expect great Chinese food at this unassuming location but it's actually all superbly good. I strongly recommend the General Tso, it's some of the best I've had in the city. The owners are also quite friendly and it's not very expensive.
We live in the neighborhood and we wanted to try dim sum here as it's our favorite brunch menu. Oh god the place is nasty and the food was so bad we had to leave most of them not finished.I know the place is for tourists but it's just so bad that it makes me worried about the reputation of Toronto. Must be closed down.
Food cold and bland; service sucks!
Love the food and the service provided!!
Commercial recipe. Same fried chicken pieces mixed with soy sauce and onions in all menu items. Chicken had raw egg flavor. Staff was not attentive to dinning customers. All were busy in serving take away customers.
Hakka Style at it's best - very reasonably priced as well
Quick service, tasty and lots of options. Highly recommend the orange peel beef! So crispy and delicious!
I visited around 2-3pm. No customer here only me. Food is so so. And hospitality of the staff here is so so. Guess only myself here. They didn’t pay much attend to it. So overall 3 stars.
I've never written any reviews in my whole life... The worst food ever I ate. I managed to finish half of the fried noodle that I ordered. When I paid for the food, the server took my card. I assumed she would return it before adding any tips. But she put 15% of tips without my consent! giving my no notice about it! lol .... I do not mind giving them tips even though I was not satisfied with their food, but at least they should have told me. If you want to experience the worst service, go for this restaurant.
I was disappointed by the small portions and the moderately high bill. Food was about average for a Chinese restaurant, even if unsatisfying for dinner.
[Service] isn't as bad as other experienced. [Taste] wise - this is low quality Chinese food. Everything taste like soy sauce - no depth, no other flavour. [Environment] is clean and comfortable. [Price] is acceptable, but not worth coming
Good food, large portions and great takeout and lunch specials. The green beans and ground pork was a little over-cooked, but the sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken and vegetables were all well-done.
TYPE OF RESTAURANT: Chinese Cuisine and Dim SumPRICE (WORTH IT?): 2 stars; $5.00 - $12.00NUMBER OF TIMES I HAVE VISITED: 2SERVICE: 3 stars; servers seemed to be disinterested and somewhat sad; well trained; some servers appeared nervous; somewhat attentive to my partner and I.ATMOSPHERE: 3 stars; casual; spacious; poor lighting; old; dusty. FOOD: 2 stars; the food was subpar; small portions of food (for example, $4.25 for 3 chicken feet); dishes were served at the right temperature; seasoning was okay, but definitely too salty (possibly done to hide the fact that the food was not fresh); plating was good, but not exceptional; quality of food was somewhat consistent, dishes were better than dim sum.
Surprisingly authentic Cantonese style restaurant in downtown. I tried their spicy beef noodle and one order of dim sum, both dishes were very good especially the noodles! Price is good for the quality of food you get. Will most probably try it again next time I am in Toronto.
Lunch for 3 with various dishes.Simple no fuss restaurant with clean, no grease on the lips delicious food. Service is prompt and polite. A real unassuming gem.UPDATE JUNE 2017: Lunch with a friend proves a tad disappointing. Going for the daily special, we are given a small but filling soup and the main course. The latter leaves you hungry and wanting more and this with a side order of stuffed crab legs at 5 dollars each.A side salad would go a long way in completing this meal, especially at 12 dollars.
Usually two waiters very helpful, good food no msg very decent pricing. I have visited them numerous times.
Great, fast, service. Veggies were extra fresh and the beef short ribs were excellent!
